Notes on my first hike

[this happened a while back yet, but i've removed the words from elsewhere and would like to capture them here. they originally appeared on a flickr set of mine but now i'm adding more to that set unrelated to my first hike.]

my first (real) hike in Washington State. an apparent easy trail at talapus and ollalie lake. 6 miles. me, friend, his 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter, and my 7 year old daughter. Not sure if i like it yet it’s not the hiking, it’s that i haven’t grown accustomed to the same scenery for miles and miles; although admittedly the hike itself went by really fast. i think it had to do with this place not having a terrible amount of flowers. it would have been a welcome colour break from all the browns and greens.

kip’s got his up too…from the previous week, and maybe some from this same one:)

disclaimer: i am *not* a nature photographer, nor do i really enjoy nature photography that much, except buck foresters’:) in fact it was buck’s photos that inspired me to shoot 2 rolls of slide film while i was there. hopefully something decent will come of that, and i’ll post, when i decide whether or not to cross process one of the rolls or not…
