i need to save money

I’m writing this out only for public accountability, so i won’t go into details, but will try and answer any questions that come my way. saving money is like changing one’s diet (more on that one soon lol), or heck, anything else in life. It “works” if you’re consistent. We took a Dave Ramsey class over a year ago, and did some great things. We still have remnants of practices in place, but aren’t consistent, i.e. i do a cash flow plan for each paycheck, for example, but don’t completely zero-sum, and don’t go over it consistently with joy as i should.

At any rate, that’s about all the intro i’m gonna give. i’ll be posting my reactions and notes on Ramit’s (of I will Teach You To Be Rich) Save $1000 in 30 days under the “1000k” tag. I’ve a late start so time to get to it.

my thought:

i eat out quite a bit for lunch, and nearly every day for breakfast. my intent has been to eat in every day for lunch, but i’ll forget, nothing gets made the night before, whatever.

breakfast: avg $3.50 * 5 = 17.5/week

lunch @ 2x/week = $20/week

37.5/week * 4 = 150.

I will save $150 in a month by eating breakfast at home and carrying in lunch every week.

Today is National Survivors of Suicide Day

TWLOHA blog entry

National Survivors of Suicide Day

I got into VA yesterday. Long trip, but smooth and went well.

Went into the bathroom, and was hit with missing Mark again. I keep his memory with me daily, but sometimes i dwell on it a bit and it hits like a brick. I was wondering if I’ll be like this for the rest of my life. I think so. Definitely as long as I photograph, his memory will remain, and there’ll be a sadness/soberness to go along with the love I have for the art.

I hadn’t realized it ’til i checked my bulletins that there even *was* a “National Survivors of Suicide Day”. Praise to Him for survivors…all being said, Mark *was* a survivor, I know for a fact, at one specific instance. I pray for all of those who have lost someone to suicide, or are praying for and with others who are considering the same.

exremely lazy, don’t like extra step bighugelabs requires, and it isn’t clean enough for my tastes.

feel free to use this one. jonmadison.com ‘s been around for years, and isn’t going anywhere. :) i’m hoping resources won’t be an issue, as nothing’s stored here but the page/css.
