a minor high horse moment: i was a little irritated by so many cameras up in the piece…it’s not as much the cameras i was bothered with than:

1) the excessive flash. 1, maybe 2 are fine, within a 15 minute span (although sometimes that’s pushing it) — but hip hop is grimey, not big time, and too much flash promotes a “big time feel”, and offers a distraction that’s not necessary. we’re out to have a good time, not have seizures.

2) my doubts about the other photogs involvment in the hip hop culture. Now, i absolutely am prejudging many of the cats there :) but my hope is that those wishing to be involved in documenting hip hop be schooled in and have a genuine respect and love for it.

as far as i’m concerned, i can be away from them however long, and when we get back together its all love. this would be a reason for me to move back to indianapolis for sure. :)

Baari–one amazing man. He’s raising his little brother after their mother passed (my mother away from mother:) and is a primary reason for me following God.

Paul–we used to live across the fence from each other, and have been down since i can remember to talk! most of the dirt and goodness that happened in my early life–he was a part of it.

Bryant–hah! this is funny ‘cos i still think of you as the “new kid”, but we’ve been rolling since early still, and you and your family welcomed us to the nth degree. You don’t know but i got a lot of confidence in my DJing due to you. I don’t even want to repeat one of my favorite phrases maw maw used to say when we’d get dressed and cologned up for the nights out on the weekends, but i’m sure you know it, LOL!

y’all are never far. how can you be, much of who i am is intertwined in who y’all are.
