i entered these photos in an jurored exhibit for the city of seatac. it offered 1400$ in purchase prizes (they purchase each year for their collection that is displayed in city hall), and an honorable mention. i entered monday morning (entries were monday and tuesday) and there were already rows of works there that were entered. i got a call today that i got an honorable mention.

that made me happy. i’ve left it as a surprise to myself to find out which one got the mention, at the reception this week.

yay.

I had heard about this in passing, then was invited this past weekend, then decided to go & shoot after work yesterday.

It was a huge turnout; i really was encouraged by just how huge it was.

It amazes me, yet not, how simplistic our government has been recently, about issues that seem a bit more complex, and take more care and “nurturing”.

I guess they take us for babies.
