Photo Friday (late entry): One

glowing hanger and clothes by isaidjon

this has been a grueling week for sure. i can tell it is when my photo friday link is late.

our car died in the city 2 days ago. 4 hours, and about 5 jumps and another battery (the second bought in the week) later, we finally made it home.

it died again yesterday, so it’s off to the dealership this morning to have its alternator looked at.

egh. the only thing i find easy right now is taking pictures.

    Jon,
I found your site via my brother, Kris. Keep up the good work!

Dude! Wow. I’m glad that I stumbled across you and your fam. They’re beautiful. For some reason, I prayed for your kids. They look like God’s gonna hit them with a pretty exciting misison. I was actually looking for some Wax Musim to buy, tryna figure out if YSG had an album out yet. I’ve been lurking in the sporadic shadows for years, I remember the dramatic name change from Allstar to Yoch, and I guess now it’s just Jon? That’s cool…for some reason, I have a very distinct memory of listening to YSG on the broad street (orange) line of the subway when I was still living in philly…”Y’all better act like y’all wanna come alive in here…” So every now and again, I get the idea to check you out…but i did this time and i found this dude named Jon and his wife Joy and some dope pics (i’m a digital filmmaker/photographer myself) and then it was about 30 mins of browsing the smartbro.org site before I put two and dos together…I was like”Hold up, it’s ALLstar!!” (I figured that I had just landed here from a random google link)…but anyway, I think your family and your career is pretty dope, and I’d like to cop some of your recent stuff, and maybe some Tim stuff. You also seem like you’d make a good cinematographer. Also, get healthy, yo…healthy is all that matters…and healthy won’t necessarily make you thin…check out the new Christian flavor of the week (LOL) “The Maker’s Diet” it is a fad, but it’s also a fad for a reason. It explains some pretty harrowing things about diet and the way God made us to eat…the most dramatic thing I got from it was the fact that eating grains that haven’t yet sprouted is bad for you (since you’re also eating the God-made chemical that KEEPS the grains from sprouting prematurely.) That’s why Joseph could store up so much grain during the famines, because it had “enzyme inhibitors” that kept it from sporuting and spoiling in the egyptian heat. As I’m sure you know, our bodies depend on enzymes to metabolize energy and for our immune system, and if we eat enxyme inhibitors found in most grains, it’s damaging our body’s basic tools for growth and toxic-regulation…ALSO, my dad had a stroke that paralyzed him for 2 weeks that was a result of his hectic superman lifestyle and his poor eating habits and his refusal to workout. (He was an athlete in highschool and college, but slacked off after marriage and corporate success)…now, thanks to a prayer, healing scriptures and a radical change in diet, and simple daily walking, my dad has lost nearly 200 lbs and lives a totally normal, blessed UNMEDICATED life in service to God. I’m a filmmaker and an editor and a writer, and so when I’m not in the field shooting, I’m a fat lard at a desk…so I can relate to your issues, but God’s really getting me ready and opening my eyes about appreciating this body he gave me to get around in for now.

    That’s it, homey…peace out…
    Blessings to your fam!
Holler at me about any albums!
