i can take the scheduled downtime (as they announced), it’s the unexpected ones that annoy me.

next week i’ll be free however…we will have a caching solution for the wordpress/flickr gallery (at least started :).

it so happens that the CMT Country music awards were being filmed yesterday–so i caught a gang of before the scenes pix:)

the trip into chicago was great.
the trip to nashville was frought with delays.

i’m here now.

highlight of the day–being greeted by my nekkid son

What a great price (although a tad upset i didn’t get in when she was selling for much cheaper a week or so ago), and no shipping. :)

I was fortunate that when i got the first email from the ebay seller about being out of town next week, i wrote back with a bit of useful information:

feel free to call me if there’s *any* possibility to meet today somewhere to pick it up. i’m going to pick up my brother in law at the airport today at 2 and will be out and about.

come to find out, she was flying out of town for the week, and would be at the airport at 2:30…perfect! she described herself i described myself, gave me her mobile #, and i was on my way!

i had to wrangle the kids together to head out–we left at about 10 minutes to 2–and i had NO batteries left on *my* mobile. I turned on my phone for a sec to let joel know we’re on our way “it’ll be about 25 minutes”. i learned something new today–we’re only 10 minutes from the airport.

long story short we made it there, joel drove in a circle with the kids after dropping myself and jaden off (i needed a heavy just incase). at the international terminal. in a few minutes we saw our pickup lady, and she gave us the package with a smile.

i received it with a smile.

this is a much lighter, and “complex” camera than i anticipated. much sturdier than the holga, but with that same basement smell. what character.

i have a roll of fuji 200 in there–the only one i had available. we’ll see…

nearly a week after my acquisition of a Holga 35 AFX, providence dictated :) that i’ve found a Lomo LC-A at a Very Good Price–right in my own neighborhood!!!111

got it from ebay. really want to bring it with me to TN next week since i’ll have all my good shots of famous people. :)

i about passed out when i saw that the seller was from Renton, WA (where i live). so…i “[bought] it now”.
