Holga 35 AFX – it’s ok
uploaded from flickr.
I am nearly sure that the Holga 35AFX is not as “ooh ah” as the 120MF. My first roll of 24 had only about 6 pictures that came out–which actually would have been more, but Sams Club chose to not develop a significan number of pictures i had taken inside of the store (the pictures were not there but the negatives were–this was the second time a sams/walmart has done this, the first time a random picture of a coworker was removed/never developed from my roll).
I got my second and third developed at Ritz (Cameras West in Tukwila). All the pics came out just fine. I did take time to tape the camera up a bit in the front and back on each roll (re-taping on reloading), although i don’t think there’s as much light-leak as the 120 has.
I thought the photos looked pretty plain, as in something I could have taken with a disposable, but with the exception of the one in this post, the others in the flickr set are untouched. they feel a bit better after scanning.
i’m going to take some time to rig this to take square pics, and remove much of the taping on a roll to see how it turns out…then all i need is another beautiful day like today was to shoot. :)
