i’m no longer allowed to love flickr

now that they’ve been acquired by a mega-corp. (can’t believe i didn’t catch this yesterday afternoon).

on the other hand, yahoo! has always been good to me…they’ve managed to, in my view, stay themselves, even when expanding. they seem like the Rich Cool Uncle, as opposed to the Rich Uncle who Came Into Money and now Behaves Like a Jerk (can you say goooo…uhahem).

as long as the API stays OPEN and free, i’ll be a happy camper.

the only thing that truly bothers me is that now there will be a higher noise ratio to deal with. if it becomes like mysp*@$e i will run for the hills screaming.

so i guess for now, it is still always and foreverrrr….

I think they are done....look up http://www.djjazzyjeff.com and http://www.djqbert.com both of them look like the tour is over. They look like they are not touring together anymore.
  • so i was checking out your photos and i saw this turntable 2005 tour. do you know where i can find out tour dates for that? i did a search and nothing came up. it sounds dope.
  • big corporations scare me... they're always buying out the lil' man (can't blame 'em cuz they are getting PAID)... gotta respect that they're popular enough to be bought out... but i await for the day when i small company will stand without being bought out by some larger company

  • Ya know, I actually thought about you when I read this article on Uncle Google News yesterday as you write about your love for Flickr alot.

I have an account and can't say i've actually uploaded any photos, I have used Gallery for a few years so never really saw a use for Flckr untill I wanted a more elegant way to implement my gallery into my wordpress blog. After I saw some of the troubles you were having with the plugin and Wordpress 1.5 I decided not to torture myself. :)

Google just got popped for copywrite infringement themselves, about the same time this deal was announced.

I use both Google and Yahoo for completely different reasons, both have their creepiness.
