need to take a long, hard look at the flickr gallery wp plugin…

I knew this, but it never hurts til it happens (not like it matters to me right *now*, but it will in the long run)…when flickr’s down, the local gallery is down, regardless of the fact that your pics are still in the cache.

what i hope is that the cache images expire only when a pic or info is accessed, not on access of the plugin.

have to look at this when i happen to have a coupla free hours one weekend…(!)

UPDATE: they’re back up, but as i was uploading just as they started to go down, i lost 2 photographs. interesting.

    lol thanks. RSS has been great for this site :) i think what happens is that since i trackback to flickr blog most of the time (not to inflate stats but rather because its the logical thing to do–but hey at the rate flickr’s been going down, dreamhost will have to charge me extra for bandwidth ;), it could be TDSP (or, Trickle Down Stat Pop, or just T(rackback)SP if you’re politically correct :)

    my stats say many people do read however (or visit due to curiosity from the blog name), activity shows that noone comments, but i’m not mad, since i mainly talk about nothing–the seinfeld of blogs, only not funny. my aim this blog will be the most useful to my kinfolk and friends after i die. :)

    i didn’t actually *lose* them; flickr failed to upload or process them. i just re-uploaded and everything was cool.
