50 cent massacre

a beats + rhymes synopsis of 50 cent’s “massacre”, based on a cursory listen.

aight i have to say that beat wise, very nice joints. a little more grimey than i would have thought…sampled drum kits permeate more of the tracks than i would have originally thought, along with thick musical riffs.

lyrically–the love of money shines through.

Its tough to hear 30 year old children rapping. its difficult to comprehend the insecurity that’s prevalent in much of today’s rap artists. It’s not so much the insecurity that i don’t dig, but the fact that there’s a lack of admission of it, but rather a veneer of “completeness”.

when my cds drop they sell the best
you call it luck, why can’t it just be i’m blessed?

because it rains on the just, and the unjust…this isn’t to knock 50 as being “unjust” — as we all are, outside of Yahweh, but to actually answer the question. ;)
