On the real–if it wasn’t for MLK, my son would most likely not be possible.
If he only knew at this time in his life how much he’s helped me live…
Happy birthday!
Update. We had a fun little family party.

Why Does Okayplayer Suck? – ThaHipHop.Com [AL]
particularly point #3
my disclaimers (after seeing the hating that proceeded the article):
don’t visit okayplayer much, although i check in every now and then
have loved the roots forever, own all the joints from organix since
i personally know, and appreciate one of the people who originally got down
on that site (not sure if she still keeps it up)
that being said, i do think that the tipping point sounded like a throwaway album. like the guy posting above, its an *opinion*. i guess he’d have an issue if he posted a link to it *at* the okayplayer.com forums though–that’d be uncalled for.
from ed adkins blog:
What do you call a music player where you can’t find your music or even see what’s playing?
Broken?
Not if you’re Apple.
touche’!
although i did think the same thing at first–to its credit, you *do* have the ability to create your own playlist on your PC. it is *not* completely random, if you choose.
at its “worst”, it’s completely random (from the synchronization mode to the “shuffle” button on the device itself), but in general, it’s better than a cassette player (because of the “random access”), and slightly better than a CD player (because of the capacity)
The Procussions video is very entertaining.
found this sitting on my slashdizzle feed:
if i have a second (will i get a second? aiyeee!!)–i’m going to try to whip up a little something.
GMail Messages are Vulnerable to Interception
got this link from slashdot.
thank God its still in “Beta”?
Slashdot | G4 Drops TechTV Name
No longer a channel I’d sit and watch with my family each evening. I’m assuming gamers are happy?
speaking of, given this and my previous “gaming” post you may think i hate games. in fact, i really like playing games (slightly upset i didn’t get the Gameboy Advance i was pining for recently :). i’m not a “gamer” by any stretch of the imagination, however (obviously :)
i guess i just cannot figure out who their intended demographic is, with all day gaming shows?
i loved having a tech channel that my *wife* enjoyed, and found informative, entertaining and sometimes helpful.
when it degenerated into a 14 year old male friendly channel, they lost us, and i’m sure many others.
i knew it was the beginning of the end way back when megan left.

I have sold the beats.com domain name. It is the end of an era. I used to work at an Internet/multimedia development company as an “Internet Specialist/Webmaster” some years ago. It was there where I had the responsibility for registering customers’ domain names, setting up the DNS servers, and web servers, and even doing the HTML to put together pages. The Internet was so much simpler then. I registered two domain names that were dear to me in particular:
madisons.com
and
beats.com
Slashdot | This Just In – Gamers Are Human
However,
Gamers sometimes have trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality.
The mind is definitely complex. To pretend we comprehend it is a sham.
Perhaps it is *because* we are human, that we are susceptible to the effect of gaming?
Oh wait, the first study is from ESA:
The ESA is the U.S. association dedicated to serving the business and public affairs needs of the companies publishing interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers, and the Internet.
Not that they have an interest in “shattering the myths”.
Of course you’ve seen this. Apple be marketing.
I see an immediate use:
ipod for the vehicle
shuffle for the bus
(hint)
