I got a call from wifey; she is quite a bit dilated! It is possible that we could have the baby as soon as next week! The doctor could feel the baby’s head.
It becomes so much more exciting even, when you hear stuff like that, even on your third. :D

Dag i had forgotten about this one, and found it again during lunchtime browsing.
TROOP: To Rule Over Oppressed People
This is simply a hilarious throwback to how we latched on to all of these rumours in high school.
From where I work, on my floor, we can see the sunrise over the city. As a coworker put it, “i love that light! makes Queen Anne neighborhood look like Tuscany”
Absolutely. As she also pointed out–it’s bad for them because of the glare. :)
I need to bring my camera into work each morning, just incase.
Just got another phishing attempt, this one slightly more legit looking, because the domain name is e-wamu.com, which was just recently (last week) registered to a Melody Young. I had thought that ICANN is requiring using real info on domain registrations (although I do know for a fact that they’re not doing any rigorous checking). I don’t have the energy to give this person a call to see if they know of anyone who would have registered this domain using their name, though.
Tyrone Willingham will be coaching for UW. Interesting news.
What a day today. The power went out when we got home this afternoon. I went out to get firewood, came back, still out, so I lit the fire. Slept for a little bit, my boy came up to sit with me and watch the fire, along with mommy. we all got up, lit a candle, took some pics, went out to eat. Found out our dash lights are out again on the way. Prayed for the lights to come back on. Went to the bookstore, was closing in 15 minutes. Picked up and browsed the book Head First Design Patterns.
Was turned off by the “extreme photo” on the cover (I loathe those), but it looks interesting, so I shelved the title in my head for further lookup (obviously ;). Put down the book I was looking at purchasing (Introduction to Cocoa development, i believe–cannot remember the title) and kept the Urb. Drove home, observed stoplights were still out. Got to our apartment, our lights were back on. Put the kids in bed, now watching The Terminal. I’ll probably have to cut it short, for a huge work meeting looms tomorrow. Oh wait, it’s over now. Great flick. Wind is picking up again. Time for bed.
Tyrone, stop following a brother.
Discovery Online, The Skinny On… Peanut Butter and Nuclear Power
I do think its so interesting how humans perceive different activities.
One of the questions I always raise in my head, however, is “what is so wrong with being irrational”? So many hold up “rationality” as the ideal, as if that will stop us from meeting our ultimate fate, or even make our lives “better” somehow. I really do think that irrationality is a) what makes humans so dang interesting b) what keeps us from trying to rely on our self for all the answers c) what has been the hallmark of many a great invention.
that being said, the above article is very interesting, and I do find it silly when people are more afraid of things that don’t carry nearly as much risk as things in which you’d daily partake.
I took some shots tonight while driving us home from another chipotle night. Yes, while driving. The good thing is that on the main drag, it’s okay. really. I did step out of the car to get the beer shot–i’d been eyeing it everytime we come home from there (which is quite often) and finally thought to stop and get this. I’m sure this graffitti has had to have been snapped several times.
I really would like to take some classes. I miss my photo muses from back home.
In other news, my daughter’s brain is so wired like mine it’s scary. the way she connects concepts in the weird way I do scares me (really it does–i fear for her :). Mommy was reading her a book, and mentioned the word “chameleon” and she said “The word ‘chameleon’ sounds like its from outer space”. Odd. i think it does too. She also shares the weird habit of mixing up the colours green and orange. Double odd. She also has the tendency to be overbearing to annoying, like myself. Good thing she’s pretty.
I was watching a man in his late 40′s early 50′s reading a novel on the bus. He “lip-reads”. I’ve never done this, so it’s such a phenomena to me–i have to watch this dude. I always thought only younger kids do that, but I guess there are many who must. Hopefully one is reading this entry to answer the puzzle that came to mind.
He was reading with a cup of coffee in hand. Every so often he would move the cup up to his lips, but then take it away, not taking a sip. He finally took a sip of his coffee after some apparent deliberation (about 30 seconds worth, at least). I wonder if he actually had to completely stop reading, as he drank his coffee?
Hannukah up in the piece.
Big ups to the Maccabees for holding it down for theirs back then. :-)
Why Oh Why can I not eat as many of these cookies as i want, forever, and not get fat(ter)?
