heading to the hospital again…!
We called the hospital this morning at 6:00a.m. expecting to go in (to be induced); but they were booked…it was an odd experience that starts with almost going in Christmas eve, and i won’t go into much more (no love lost) except to say that Joy has been up since 5:45a.m.–we finally got called around 4 o’clock to come in…
Update 6:14p.m. PST – we’re here–she’s getting hooked up now. Things look well. One difference this time is that her blood pressure is borderline; in general it is usually below normal.
Update 8:35p.m. PST – she’s hooked up on pitocin; contractions are coming along.
Update 8:47p.m. PST gallery started. blood pressure is fine–she was a tad excited about coming in earlier. probably no more checkins for quite a while. i’m quite a bit tired.
Update 11:22p.m. PST still waiting — shift change, and our new lady is great–joy’s now getting some much needed rest. Our nurse gave me some direct light that can be directed by an interesting piece of hardware.
Update 1:52a.m. PST after a nap on my part, and after a slight epidural scare (which was actually “normal” but we hadn’t experienced previously, she’s gotten her epidural. It may be quiet for a little bit.
I’m realizing that i’m not sure I want to go through the baby thing again. after this one. :) That feeling always dissappears when the baby arrives, however.
I’m amazed at how well Joy “takes” pain…or at least how she projects taking pain. :) I have no clue on the planet how any woman is able to go through the amount of pain it takes to deliver a child. Highest props to her.
