I was watching a man in his late 40’s early 50’s reading a novel on the bus. He “lip-reads”. I’ve never done this, so it’s such a phenomena to me–i have to watch this dude. I always thought only younger kids do that, but I guess there are many who must. Hopefully one is reading this entry to answer the puzzle that came to mind.
He was reading with a cup of coffee in hand. Every so often he would move the cup up to his lips, but then take it away, not taking a sip. He finally took a sip of his coffee after some apparent deliberation (about 30 seconds worth, at least). I wonder if he actually had to completely stop reading, as he drank his coffee?
