Distortion to Worship (music)

Word. This morning was great. last evening i got to spin, and it went really well–it was also the first time our “group” played as a group (we’re not officially a group). It was a great supportive place to do so, since we were a bit rough around the edges.

This morning, we got to do it again, twice, for the 9 o’clock and 10:30 crowds, and it went much better than last night. :) Jazzy with the hip hop style, all “worship-style” music.

Of course I’m not sure, but i’m sure this was the first time that the beat from Distortion to Static was ever used at a sunday morning gathering.

I’m sooo inspirred to break out the MPC again.

Hey, Jon – Sounds great! You didn’t happen to record any of it, did you?

I was just going through a bunch of records, trying to decide what to sell, and figured I had to hang on to a number of hip-hop records if only for the instrumentals…your story definitely confirmed that for me!

i’m in the process of trying to record my 12″‘s to digital (since i use my CDJ’s to spin out anyway) — it’s been ground to a halt since i’ve moved–hope to pick it back up again as soon as i can though, since i’m going to be doing some regular DJing here in the city!
