I just noticed as I was updating my ebay mailing addresses, that five days ago was my 6 year anniversary on ebay. woohoo.

I’m a bit inspired now to do something with my site again, after moving, going to a local meetup, and witnessing the sheer amount of “entrying” a certain other blogger does. When i moved to WordPress, it was slightly more involved (still is) to update the look of a site in short order, as opposed to MT. But, through a series of links, I landed on the Kubrik plugin, that looks oh so promising. We’ll see how this works out for a brother. Speaking of–we’ll probably either change the name, or refer to this site as smartbrother.org, an homage, for the uninitiated, to the character in Undercover Brother, with whom i identify.
i don’t write long if i think a movie was bad. this movie was bad.
boring, sorta neat special effects, but kinda roger rabbitey, in a bad way. it had the feel of something i would have flipped to on TBS in the afternoon, like a movie i spent $25 to take my family out to.
speaking of which, my 2 year old boy especially found it really cool, so in that vein it was worth it. :)
personally, i felt i wasted my money. i’m not sure what i expected anyway. mayve fans of the science fiction thing will dig it. the graphical aspect couldn’t hold me enough for the entire cliche’d experience.

I should have researched this sooner, but for those who want to know–you don’t want to have a 2.4ghz wireless phone and 2.4ghz wireless router in the same area. they don’t like each other. soon as we’re talking on the phone, our wireless goes kaput. speaking of phone, we use vonage, and it sounds great, at the lowest setting.
i’m also running modified firmware to aid in VOIP bandwidth tweaking, but i haven’t gotten to that part of the software. i’ve bumped up the strength of the signal, however. it’d be nice to take my laptop to the playground while the chillens do their thing.
erg. off to get a 900mhz phone.

In case anyone was wondering, we made it all here last friday, 9/10. I had a sinus headache and participated in the most painful 3.5 hours of my entire life on the flight to Seattle. I’ve never openly cried on a plane before — OK i threw a blanket over my head before i commenced the weeping.
We were extremely pleased, however, that our children were excellent on the entire flight–I was very thankful to know that joy’s fears were allayed. Long live the 777.
It’s been fun so far…been seeing what’s to see around the area, getting the fam acquainted (I’ve been in the area 2 weeks ahead of them, and in Seattle about 4 months before them), meeting with friends, meeting new friends, worshipping with music (big up mountain vineyard), trying to hit up meetups–the barren Linux meetup, and the effervescent weblogger meetup last evening. Good food, fun, and I love it when i can take the fam to the city.
doh got a bus to catch–an hour commute is nothing less than a blessing :D

What i really dig about wordpress is that in general, it doesn’t let blog spam accumulate in the first place (90% of my blog spam has come to my email directly asking me to approve or delete the comment in the queue), and the ones that actually make it through are easy to delete.
lovely.
