The Christian life as Arrogance?
I’ve heard bantered about the thought that goes something like “it’s the height of arrogance to think that there is a God that only cares about humans above all other life”. I think that’s such a misinformed statement. In reading yesterday’s reading of The Purpose Driven Life, the author makes a great statement:
In the entire universe, only two of God’s creations fail to bring glory to him: fallen angels (demons) and us (people)…
That’s the Bible’s take on the matter. I’d have to surmise that while on the one hand, we’re made just a “little lower than the angels“, we’re pretty much on the low end when it comes to actually doing what God wants us to do. I’m factoring arrogance out of the equation of why one would choose to believe in Yahweh.
