XF86Config for hp pavillion ze5300

XF86Config for ze5300

aight here it is…stick this in your /usr/lib/X11/XF86Config and this should do you….i haven’t tried any further, but i know that if you wanted to get a little more specific looking for a driver, the card inside is a Radeon IGP 345M (or at least compatible with it) — the hp site or docs don’t have specifications on the hardware in this badboy, and i’m not about to open this mug up. i spent too much to be doing that on my own, these days.

this works perfectly with my ze5385, YMMV.

Hi. I’m experiencing some problems of course, and any advice would be appreciated. I have the same model HP and I tried the above advice but when I go into the display panel to increase the resolution, it must overwrite your custom file. Should my monitor have automatically used the custom 1400×1050 resolution or is there another way to manually up the res without Linux creating a new config file?

that’s it. you shouldn’t have to go in and change the resolution. you just put the config in place.

your monitor should have used the 1400×1050. what resolution comes up when you start your X?

did you put the XF86Config file in the proper place? (usually /usr/lib/X11).

FTR i have a ze5385, although i’d gather any should work.

THANK YOU! I’ve been struggling for hours with the X configuration on my laptop (a ze5270) with no success, but this configuration worked PERFECTLY!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi

Thank you very much to all you guys for putting up all this help. I was a beginner and it really helped me to set up my HP laptop. Everything works!

The problem is that the wireless card stops working after a while! You don’t realise it until the Internet connection doesn’t work anymore. Then when I shut down I see some message that says it can’t speak to the wireless card. (In the black terminal when RedHat reboots)

I also sometimes have to reconfigure the Internet Connection in RedHat so that the wireless card works

    Please Help
