Nigerian Scizzam and their economic future

Nigeria and the 419 scourge

i first receved one of these letters about 3 or 4 years ago, when it was fairly new, and remember, almost being taken by it, because coincidentally, one of my brothers had been doing some research on our geneaology and had traced our roots in africa and sent info on it just a few days before–so hey, i’m a “dumb american”, and africa’s a big country (although the way i remember it, he did mention nigeria :)

i’ve seen dozens in my inbox sense, as well as variations. now, this article kinda seems to go off on a tangent (maybe the thoughts are related–i’m not up on nigerian current events), but it was the first few paragraphs that struck me–that a single scam could do so much damage to an entire country. the power of words, and perception (which i have learned from some past few months’
experiences), are incredible.
