let us begin

i am jon. jon madison. son, father, husband, hack of many, many trades. actually i’ve learned and am learning that i’m not a hack at all…i have too many talents than i think i should have sometimes…the trick is to take the talent that i have and have developed, focus on something (or some limited amount of things) and set a price for it. it’s not terribly as tricky as it used to be, but i could go on about how i’ve struggled with the whole “charging for my services” thing. these days though, my family’s well being depends on it. i swear that right now i am the only jobless madison in our family. it doesn’t happen often–we’re used to being employed–anywhere. which leads me to my next thought…next week i’ll have my feet on the ground really looking for employment, and if for the time being i end up at best buy, i am down. i have to keep reminding myself “well, you did have a choice (for what that choice was worth), and you chose to be free.” in that, there’s a great relief, and hope, but that also means that it’s time to hustle.

    Dang – Jon “Mr. Modesty” Madison

    Findin’ work should be easy for a kat like you.

    Oh yeah – I’ll send you the email of our worldwide Director of SE. He told me you should send yo’ resume. I don’t know if they have any positions in the Midwest, but I think they’re opening one in DC area (don’t tell Joy) – Anyway, I might go for that one – so it would be futile to apply ;)
